National Hurling League Division 4 round-up
Tyrone and South Down will meet in the Allianz Hurling League Division 4 final after registering final round wins this afternoon.
At Healy Park in Omagh, table toppers Tyrone claimed a comfortable 4-26 to 1-08 victory over the hurlers of Longford.
Despite the facile nature of this win, it was Longford who drew first blood with Johnny Casey netting for the visitors after only 23 seconds.
However, goals from Justin Kelly and Cathal McErlean (2) helped Tyrone take a 3-14 to 1-05 interval lead.
Eoin Donnellan (0-07) kept Longford in touch, but a fourth quarter goal from Kelly, who tallied up 2-09, helped seal the rout.
South Down notched up the biggest score across all the divisions when they thrashed Cavan 5-32 to 1-05 on the 3G pitch at Kingspan Breffni Park.
The visitors were always on top and led by 3-22 to 1-1 at the interval. Eoin McGuinness hit a hat-trick of goals for South Down, with Liam Deegan netted the other two.
Meanwhile, Fermanagh's hurlers impressed from start to finish in their 4-19 to 1-9 win over Leitrim at Ballinamore.
The visitors led by 2-8 to 0-4 at half-time. Sean Corrigan, Declan McGarry and John Duffy were among the Fermanagh goal scorers, with Ryan Bogue also scoring six points for the Erne County.
It was Fermanagh's third win but not enough to ensure a final berth. They finished just a point adrift of second-placed South Down.
