Banner hurlers ease past Kerry
Clare 6-23 Kerry 1-18
The Clare hurlers had a runaway victory over Kerry in Ennis this afternoon, with the result moving them to the top of Allianz Hurling League Division 2.
The Banner men’s fourth league win looked assured as they turned around with a 4-15 to 1-06 half-time lead.
John Conlon, with a brace, and Nicky O’Connell and Diarmuid McMahon scored the goals for the hosts who had the benefit of the wind in the opening half.
Kerry goalkeeper Bernard Rochford, who plays for Cork club Killeagh, produced some terrific saves, but Clare were too strong in all areas of the pitch.
However, Clare boss Ger ‘Sparrow’ O’Loughlin will have to tighten up his defence ahead of their trip to Laois next Saturday.
