Cork All-Ireland winner quits football
Cork footballer Derek Kavanagh has announced his retirement on medical advice.
The All-Ireland winner has told the Evening Echo that he will not be able to continue with his club, Nemo Rangers, because of a recurring hip injury.
The versatile 30-year-old, who was a second-half substitute in last year's All-Ireland final victory over Down, had quit the inter-county scene after that win.
