Donegal overcome Derry in high-scoring derby
DERRY 2-12 DONEGAL 2-18
Donegal outlasted Derry in a high-scoring Ulster derby at Celtic Park tonight.
Towering full-forward Michael Murphy delighted the visiting fans with a tremendous second-half goal, adding six points to his final tally.
Derry were 1-11 to 1-09 behind at half-time despite a goal from late call-up Caolan O'Boyle and a clutch of points from Conleth Gilligan.
O'Boyle scored a penalty to level the sides at 1-13 ro 2-10, but Murphy, whose marker Kevin McCloy was sent-off, guided Donegal to victory.
