National Hurling League Division 3A round-up
The Leinster hurling sides were to the fore in Division 3A of the Allianz League as Wicklow, Kildare and Meath mustered wins this afternoon.
Wicklow claimed a slender 2-15 to 1-17 victory over Derry at Aughrim. They led by 1-07 to 0-09 at half-time, with the Garden County losing Enan Glynn through a red card.
An Andy O'Brien goal propelled the hosts into a 2-12 to 0-15 lead midway through the second half, and despite Derry stealing a late advantage, Wicklow ran out winners thanks to a Jonathan O'Neill point.
Goals from Martin Fitzgerald and Kevin Walzer were vital as Kildare emerged as 2-16 to 1-15 victors over London at St Conleth’s Park.
Kildare goalkeeper Paul Dermody was forced to make an excellent save late on.
Declan Coulter scored 13 points for Armagh but it was not enough as Meath beat the Orchard men on a 1-20 to 1-17 scoreline at Pairc Tailteann.
The sides were tied at 1-9 to 0-12 at the interval, with Cathal Carville netting Armagh's goal.
