Allianz NHL Division 3A round-up
Wicklow, Derry and London all recorded wins in the opening round of Division 3A in the Allianz National Hurling League today.
At Arklow, Wicklow secured a 2-14 to 0-17 triumph over neighbours Kildare. The Lilywhites led by 0-11 to 0-10 at half-time, but a brace of second half goals kept the hosts on track.
Derry were 3-16 to 0-15 victors over their Ulster rivals Armagh at Banagher.
Alan Grant, Paddy McCloskey and Ruairi Convery (penalty) grabbed Derry's goals in this high-scoring encounter. The Oak Leafers led by two points at half-time with Grant netting their first half goal.
Meanwhile, London registered a hard-earned 1-13 to 1-8 win over Meath at Ruislip. It was Cillian Farrell's first game in charge of the visitors.
