Footballer Philly McGuiness laid to rest
Leitrim GAA footballer Philip McGuiness has been laid to rest.
The 26-year-old died in a freak accident after a match last weekend.
Hundreds of people attended his funeral and burial in Mohill today, including GAA President Christy Cooney and former President Sean Kelly.
The Taoiseach Brian Cowen was represented by his aide de comp.
The local parish priest Fr Bernard Hogan described Philip as somebody who lived for sport.
He was laid to rest beside his father Michael in Mohill Cemetery.
He is survived by his mother Philomena and brothers Michael and John.
