Dooley names Offaly side for Waterford clash
Offaly manager Joe Dooley has named his team to face Waterford in Sunday's Allianz NHL Division 1 encounter at Walsh Park (throw-in 2.30pm).
He has made three changes in personnel to the side which beat Limerick last weekend.
Goalkeeper James Dempsey and midfielder Stephen Wynne make their first starts of the campaign, while Derek Molloy also comes into the side at centre-forward.
Kinnity clubman Dempsey replaces Brian Mullins between the posts, while there are a number of positional switches to the Offaly defence.
David Franks and Michael Verney switch wings in the full-back line, while James Rigney moves from midfield to replace Michael Verney at right half-back.
Rigney's midfield berth is taken by Wynne who partners Rory Hanniffy in the Faithfuls' engine room.
In attack, Brian Carroll and Joe Bergin trade places, with Carroll taking the right half-forward berth and Bergin now positioned in the right corner.
Molloy, who was introduced last weekend as a substitute, will lead the Offaly attack from the 40, with Joe Brady the player to lose out.
OFFALY (NHL v Waterford): James Dempsey; Michael Verney, David Kenny, David Franks; James Rigney, Paul Cleary, Derek Morkan; Rory Hanniffy, Stephen Wynne; Brian Carroll, Derek Molloy, Daniel Currams; Joe Bergin, Ger Healion, Shane Dooley.
