Dillon faces race for fitness

Key forward Alan Dillon is a major doubt for Division 1 Football League leaders Mayo, ahead of the Westerners clash with Monaghan at McHale Park, Castlebar this Sunday (kick off: 2.30pm).

Dillon limped off in the 63rd minute of last Sunday's 1-12 to 1-10 victory over Kerry in Tralee, and has a fresh knee problem.

"Alan came off with a dead leg but there also seemed to be a problem with his knee," Mayo manager John O'Mahony said.

"We won't know until later in the week if he will be able to play next Sunday but there is some doubt there."

Victory over Monaghan this weekend would leave Mayo well primed for a spot in this year's Division 1 NFL decider on Sunday April 25.
