Cavan back on form against Wexford
Cavan 0-17 Wexford 0-12
Cavan ended a two-match losing streak in Allianz NFL Division 3 as they ran out worthy winners over Wexford at Kingspan Breffni Park tonight.
The Breffni men led 0-8 to 0-7 at the interval, with Ronan Flanagan fisting over the opening point after 55 seconds.
Flanagan ended the first half with four points and was a constant threat. Free-taker Shane Roche kept Wexford in touch, while Pat Naughter was also on target for the visitors.
Cavan landed the first three points of the second period, with Cian Mackey (0-2) and David Givney, who was a big influence in midfield, finding their range.
Mackey went on to score five points but Tommy Carr's men had to see out the closing minutes down to 14 players, after Brian Malone picked up his second yellow card.
