Westmeath 0-14 Wexford 1-20

Diarmuid Lyng's nine-point haul was the difference as Colm Bonnar's Wexford claimed a comfortable 1-20 to 0-14 victory over Wexford in today's NHL Division 2 clash in Mullingar this afternoon.

Westmeath battled hard throughout, but Lyng was the jewel in Wexford's crown as six first-half points from the St Martin's clubman pushed the visitors into a 0-13 to 0-6 half-time lead.

The hosts rallied on the restart with the likes of Brendan Murtagh and Enda Loughlin doing their utmost for the cause.

But Jim Berry netted the only goal 13 minutes from the end for Wexford to ensure they began their league run with a solid win.
