Successful debut for O’Loughlin at Clare
Clare 2-20 Down 0-6
Ger O’Loughlin’s first NHL game in charge of Clare went to plan as the Banner men claimed a 20-point victory over Down in Ennis this afternoon.
Free-taker Mark Flaherty stood out with a well-taken 2-10 personal haul, helping Clare take a 1-13 to 0-4 half-time lead.
Down gave Flaherty far too much time and space to fire home his first half goal and the visitors, now managed by Gerard Monan, also struggled in attack - hitting a high number of wides and striking the crossbar and post.
