Five senior GAA matches, which were due to take place today, have been postponed due to unplayable pitches.

Snow showers and icy conditions around the country are threatening a number of other games.

Last night's Allianz NHL Division 1 opener between Tipperary and Kilkenny in Thurles also fell foul of the wintry weather, with the tie provisionally refixed for Tuesday night at the same venue.

The following matches are postponed:

AIB All-Ireland Club Senior Football Championship Semi-Final:

Corofin (Galway) v St. Gall's (Antrim), Parnell Park

Allianz National Hurling League:

Division 2:

Laois v Kildare, Portlaoise

Division 3B:

Fingal v Wicklow, Swords

Division 4:

Monaghan v Fermanagh, Inniskeen

Longford v South Down, Fay Park.
