Students beat Meath to reach final

Meath 0-13 DCU 0-16

After their heroics in beating Dublin in midweek, Meath crashed out of the O'Byrne Cup at the semi-final stage today - falling to a hungry DCU side at Pairc Tailteann.

Eamonn O'Brien's men put in a poor display and were hampered by the dismissals of Brian Meade and Barry Regan, one in each half, and some poor shooting by the likes of Cian Ward and Stephen Kennedy.

The Royals were 0-8 to 0-7 ahead at half-time and despite a red card for Colin Rafferty, the Dublin students edged ahead to record a morale-boosting 0-16 to 0-13 win.

Wexford's Shane Roche, the side's free-taker, Dublin's Paddy Andrews and Roscommon ace Cathal Cregg led the scoring for a weakened DCU side as they look ahead to next week's Sigerson Cup tie against rivals UCD.
