Tipp footballers win for second day in a row

Tipperary put in a second solid display against a Limerick college outfit in the space of 24 hours to register a 2-13 to 2-6 win over Limerick IT at Dr. Morris Park, Thurles this afternoon.

New director of football John Evans used this McGrath Cup quarter-final to give fresh blood a chance with 13 new players used between the victory over UL 24 hours earlier and today's match.

Tipperary led by 1-5 to 2-1 at the interval thanks to a Padraig O'Dwyer goal.

The Premier County were again goal hungry on the restart, with Donal Lynch netting their second goal.

Fethard clubman Benny Hahessy also impressed with four points for the eventual winners.
