Meyler set for second spell with Kerry

John Meyler has been ratified as Kerry senior hurling manager for the second time, having first managed the Kingdom back in the 1990s.

Meyler, who was ousted as manager of his native Wexford last year, will this time take over the Kerry reins from Mossie Carroll. His appointment is for two years.

Based in Cork, Meyler helped the Kerry Under-21s win the All-Ireland 'B' title last season and will have Ballyduff clubman John Hennessy as one of his selectors in the Kerry senior set-up.

The other selector will be named in the coming weeks, while Joe O'Connor will take on the trainer duties.

Meyler's first competitive game in charge of the Kerry hurlers will be a Waterford Crystal Cup first round clash with UL next month.
