One change for Donegal

Donegal manager John Joe Doherty has announced his side to face Derry in tomorrow's All-Ireland Senior Football Championship Round 3 qualifier at MacCumhaill Park, Ballybofey (7pm)

There is just one change to the team from the one which beat Clare last weekend.

Aodh Ruadh, Ballyshannon clubman Brian Roper comes in at centre-half-forward to replace the injured Christy Toye.

Toye was stretchered off after falling awkwardly in the 48th minute of last week's 0-13 to 1-07 win over Clare after scoring two vital points.

It was later reported that the St Michael's clubman had snapped his Achilles tendon.

Meanwhile Derry manager Damien Cassidy will become the last of the Senior inter-county manager to announce a team ahead of the weekend's action. The Oak Leaf boss will name his side to face Donegal tonight.

The sides have met on 18 occasions in Championship football with the balance of wins standing at 11-7 in Derry’s favour.

Derry and Donegal are meeting for the second successive year in the Championship and for only the fourth time this decade.

The Oak Leafers prevailed by two points in last year’s Ulster quarter-final in Ballybofey but Donegal beat Derry in Ulster semi-final clashes in 2006 and 2002.

DONEGAL (SF v Derry): P Durcan; F McGlynn, N McGee, K Lacey; B Dunnion, B Monaghan, E McGee; L McLoone, K Cassidy; R Kavanagh (Capt), B Roper, D Walsh; C Dunne, M Murphy, C McFadden.
