Evans to stick with Tipp
John Evans has committed to staying with Tipperary as their senior football manager for a third season, in the wake of the Premier County's one-point loss to Sligo in the All-Ireland SFC qualifiers last Saturday.
The Kerry native has transformed football fortunes in Tipp since arriving in late 2007.
Since then, Evans has guided his troops to back-to-back promotions in the National League and they beat Down in this year's Division 3 final.
With players like Ciaran McDonald, Hugh Coghlan and Barry Grogan excelling, Tipp followed this up with a well-deserved victory over Louth in the All-Ireland football qualifiers, their first Championship win in six years.
