Joyce expected to feature in Connacht final
Galway manager Liam Sammon is expected to hand talented forward Nicky Joyce a start in this Sunday's Connacht Senior Football Championship final against Mayo at Pearse Stadium.
The Killererin clubman returned to training with the county panel late last month, just three weeks after being removed from the squad for disciplinary reasons.
He looks set to replace the injured Matthew Clancy in Galway's full-forward line as they take on their arch rivals Mayo.
Joyce was not part of the squad for the slender Connacht semi-final win over Sligo, but Sammon recalled the 25-year-old after a lacklustre team display against Kevin Walsh's charges.
Galway train tonight but it is anticipated that Sammon will not name his side until after training on Thursday night.
