Clare seek new football manager
Clare are on the lookout for a new senior football manager, following Frank Doherty's resignation from the position after Saturday night's All-Ireland SFC qualifier defeat by Donegal.
Doherty, who has been in charge of the Banner men for two seasons, watched his side fall to a 0-13 to 1-7 loss in Ballybofey.
The Galway man said: "I had a good chat with the lads (afterwards in the dressing room), thanked them all for the effort and the 100% they've given me for the last two years.
"We've done our best and introduced a lot of young lads to the squad and I think it will be onwards and upwards for Clare."
Doherty's most significant achievement with Clare was winning the 2008 McGrath Cup, beating Limerick in the final.
They missed out on a place in the recent Munster final by losing to Limerick, but with players like Graham Kelly, Enda Coughlan and David Tubridy pushing through, Doherty's successor will have a good nucleus of players to work with.
