GAA to outline proposals on GPA recognition

The GAA is expected to outline its latest proposals today in relation to official recognition of the Gaelic Players' Association.

Association president Christy Cooney and director general Pauric Duffy are due to give a media briefing on the matter at Croke Park.

At the weekend, GPA members refused to give post-match TV interviews as part of the group's campaign for recognition.

Meanwhile, GPA chief Dessie Farrell is also due to appear before the Oireachtas Sports Committee this afternoon.

The former Dublin footballer is set to push the case for retention of the Government's player grants scheme, the future of which is believed to be in doubt.
