Donegal into Lory Meagher Cup semi-finals

Visitors Donegal earned their place in the Lory Meagher Cup semi-finals, following a 21-point victory over Fermanagh at Brewster Park, Enniskillen this afternoon.

In ideal conditions, Eamon Campbell's charges were sublime from start to finish, but the Donegal manager was forced to watch on from the stand as he is in the middle of a DRA challenge to his eight-week suspension.

On the pitch Campbell would have certainly been happy with his side, who led by 1-09 to 0-04 at half-time with Lee Henderson netting the goal.

The 22-year-old Kevin Campbell, a son of the manager, top-scored with nine points, while Sean McVeigh and Ciaran Matheson both added second half goals to complete Donegal's hat-trick.

Matheson's goal was a superb effort as he went on a lung-bursting solo run from almost 70 metres out to weave his way through a number of Fermanagh defenders, before crashing the ball to the back of the net.

Fermanagh were heartbroken at this stage, with Donegal easing through to a semi-final clash away to South Down next weekend.
