Longford's long journey to Pairc na hEireann in Birmingham, England, was a worthwhile one as Matt McLoughlin's charges pulled off a three-point win in the Lory Meagher Cup this afternoon.

The visitors began in inspired fashion with Declan Tanner bagging a first half goal as Longford led by a point at the interval.

Warwickshire continued to press hard in the second half, but with Tanner (1-01) and top-scorer Conor Egan (0-06) firing on all cylinders, the Midlanders held out to secure a quarter-final berth.
