Derry march on to Christy Ring quarters
Derry 2-15 Wicklow 0-9
Ruairi Convery was the chief marksman, tallying up 1-5, as Derry comfortably accounted for Wicklow by 12 points in this Group 2B encounter at Swatragh.
Convery's 21st-minute goal helped the Oak Leafers take a 1-7 to 0-6 interval lead, with Sam Dodds grabbing three first half points before injury ruled out his participation for the second half.
The hosts continued to show great momentum on the restart as corner-forward Aaron Kelly was on target with the second goal for Brian McGilligan's charges
Derry were most impressive in the second half as they held Wicklow scoreless on the restart until the 61st minute with Joe Murphy on target for the visitors.
However Wicklow's woes were further compounded with the dismissal of Murphy through a second yellow card.
The Wicklow attacker had earlier received a yellow card for a foul on Dodds, which led to the Derry man exiting the field through injury.
Derry now march on to face Down in an all-Ulster quarter-final clash.
