McCarthy suspended for four weeks
The GAA's Central Hearings Committee last night imposed a four-week suspension on Cork's Niall McCarthy for 'striking with minimal force' in the Rebel's Allianz National Hurling League game against Clare last Sunday.
McCarthy was sent off by the referee during the game over the incident.
The committee also imposed two-week suspensions on Longford's Philip Reynolds and Armagh's Aidan O'Rourke.
They both got the suspensions for a 'highly disruptive/second cautionable infraction' in their games against Louth and Kildare at the weekend.
