Cork led NUI Galway by six points with 13 minutes remaining but despite a strong Galway comeback, which included scores from former Roscommon minors Cathal Kenny and David O'Gara along with Galway's Sean Armstrong they fell just short of advancing to the decider.

DIT booked their place in the decider with a 3-08 to 1-04 win over Dublin rivals UCD.

Meanwhile, St Patrick's, Drumcondra earned a place in the Trench Cup final with a 0-14 to 0-10 extra-time win over Trinity College, Dublin.
