Dublin win Walsh Shield

Anthony Daly’s Dublin withstood an Offaly rally to take the Walsh Shield title at Banagher today.

Alan McCrabbe (0-12) top-scored for the visitors who were deserving winners in a game where they held an edge throughout.

Goals in either half from Brendan Murphy kept the hosts in touch, with both scores levelling the contest.

Murphy’s 31st minute goal arrived after a Joe Bergin shot came off the upright, to level the tie at 1-08 apiece.

However Dublin finished strongly with a late McCrabbe score, sealing a two-point win.
