UL advance to final

UL 0-13 Waterford 0-08, Kill

A determined University of Limerick side overcame Waterford at Kill this afternoon to tee up a McGrath Cup final clash with Cork.

Waterford lined out without their dual star Gary Hurney, who opted for hurling action instead.

Managed by former Kerry goalkeeper Declan O'Keeffe, UL edged a tight first half thanks to points from Enda Varley and Johnny Buckley.

Mayo native Varley (0-07) top-scored for the students and Corkman Kevin O'Brien also posed a constant threat to the Waterford defence.
