Corofin power to club football semis
Corofin (Galway) 2-07 Tir Chonaill Gaels (London) 0-06
Galway and Connacht champions Corofin powered through to an All-Ireland semi-final with Kilmacud Crokes, following today's seven-point win over Tir Chonaill Gaels at Ruislip.
In heavy underfoot conditions, well-taken goals from Greg Higgins and Aidan Donnellan inside the opening ten minutes helped the visitors to a 2-03 to 0-04 interval lead.
Alan O'Donovan (0-05) and defenders Tony Higgins and Alan Burke were in excellent form for Corofin who held onto their advantage despite Kevin Downes and Ciaran McHugh keeping the hosts in touch.
