Clare too good for Tralee in Crystal Cup clash

Clare got their season off to a positive start this afternoon as they ended IT Tralee's Waterford Crystal Cup ambitions at Meelick.

First half goals from John Conlon and Mark Flaherty gave the hosts a deserved 2-06 to 0-10 interval lead.

But Clare were made to fight all the way in the second half, with Limerick native Eoin Ryan (1-09) top-scoring for IT Tralee.

Clare finished with just 13 men after using all of their substitutes and having twins Conor and Donal O'Donovan yellow carded.
