McIntyre appointed as new Galway manager

John McIntyre has been appointed as the new Galway senior hurling manager.

The former Offaly boss succeeds Ger Loughnane at the helm after being ratified by the County Board last night.

McIntyre will guide the Tribesmen into uncharted territory next summer when they open up against Laois in their first-ever Leinster Championship campaign.
