Eastern Harps became the first Sligo club since 2003 to qualify for a Connacht football final following a hard earned three-point semi-final win against Ballaghdeereen at Markievicz Park today.

The Roscommon border side, romped to a 0-05 to 0-01 opening-quarter lead following good scores from Barry Regan.

Ballaghdeereen held a 0-07 to 0-04 interval lead, but the tide turned in the second half in favour of the Sligo side, with former Sligo player Paul Taylor top-scoring with eight points as they ground out a well-earned victory.
