Connacht 1-10 Leinster 2-11

Richie Power and Ed Coady hit the goals that carried Leinster through the M Donnelly Interprovincial Hurling final at Kiltoom.

Barely 100 people turned up at the Rocommon venue to watch a game that never scaled the competitive heights.

Richie Hogan sparked Leinster's revival with a string of frees, and Carlow's Coady grabbed their second goal in the 26th minute

Leinster started brightly, with Brendan Murtagh, Richie Power and Richie Hogan on target in the opening seven minutes.

But three Niall Healy scores kept Connacht well in contention. The sides were deadlocked at 0-3 apiece when Richie Power smacked a 20 metre free straight to the net in the 19th minute.

But Connacht responded with a 1-3 salvo, Joe Gantley turning his marker before shortening the grip and drilling past PJ Ryan on 23 minutes.

Healy brought his tally to four and Kevin Hynes, with Kenneth Burke also on target, and it was the westerners who led by 1-6 to 1-4 at the interval.

Richie Hogan sparked Leinster's revival with a string of frees, and Carlow's Coady grabbed their second goal in the 26th minute, curring ionside from the left wing to beat Colm Callanan with a low shot.

Connacht sub David Tierney steered over a couple of points, but Leinster secured victory with late scores from Kilkenny pair Power and Hogan to secure their place in next weekend's Portlaoise decider against holders Munster.
