Geaney touted as new Kerry football manager

Sean Geaney has been touted as an early contender to become Kerry's new senior football manager after Pat O'Shea's departure.

The Dr Crokes clubman stepped aside after two years in the hotseat - citing personal and work commitments.

O'Shea led the Kingdom to All Ireland victory in his first year, but they lost out on the three-in-a-row to Tyrone in this year's final.

Geaney served as a selector under O'Shea, while he also managed Kerry's Under 21s to All Ireland glory this year.

Former manager Jack O'Connor has also been linked to the post.
