Kildare seek one-week deferral of Cork clash

The Kildare County Board has formally requested a deferral of Sunday's All-Ireland football quarter-final against Cork.

The Lilywhites are facing the prospect of a fourth straight weekend of action and have asked GAA chiefs for a week's rest before facing the Munster champions.

The GAC is due to convene tonight to rule on the application.
