Meath outclass Roscommon in Christy Ring Cup

A brace of second-half goals from Ger O'Neill (2-04) helped Meath secure their Christy Ring Cup status as they outlasted Roscommon at Mullingar today.

A second-minute Nicky Horan goal saw Meath start brightly, and although a Tom Reddington goal kept Roscommon in touch, the Royals led by 1-11 to 1-06 at the break.

Mervyn Connaughton cut the gap to a point with a 45th-minute goal for Roscommon, but they were outclassed in the closing stages by a strong Meath side.
