Former Galway All-Ireland winner Pete Finnerty was a selector for Mayo as the visitors orchestrated a memorable extra-time victory at Aughrim today.

Michael Walsh gave an outstanding display between the posts for Mayo, while dual player Keith Higgins and his brother Pearse were among the leading scores for the visitors.

Wicklow had led by 0-08 to 0-07 at half-time in normal time.

Jonathan O'Neill (0-08) top-scored for Wicklow and although Sean Kinsella crashed home a second-half goal, the Garden County were outdone in extra-time.
