Wicklow unchanged for Laois clash

Leighton Glynn have overcome a calf muscle injury to be named in the Wicklow team for tomorrow night's Leinster SFC quarter-final encounter with Laois (Dr. Cullen Park, throw-in 7pm).

Glynn picked up the injury in the Garden county's historic win over Kildare earlier this month but he has been passed fit for the Laois game.

"I got a kick and I thought it would be okay but it was my own doing really, because I trained on the Wednesday night after the Kildare game when I should have been resting it," Glynn said of the injury.

As well as Glynn, Tony Hannon, who top-scored with 0-6 against Kildare, has shrugged off a slight injury to take his place in an unchanged Wicklow team.

Manager Mick O'Dwyer has kept faith with the side that secured Wicklow's first ever championship win at Croke Park last time out.

John McGrath is again absent due to the three-month suspension he earned for being red carded in a Leinster Under-21 championship fixture against Wexford.

Wicklow are hoping for a repeat of their famous 1986 championship win over Laois when current selector Kevin O'Brien scored 2-3 in his side's 2-10 to 1-9 triumph.

There is added intrigue as O'Dwyer, of course, managed Laois for four seasons between 2003 and 2006. He guided them to their first Leinster title in 57 years in his first season in charge.

The winners of tomorrow's game will play Meath or Wexford in a June 22 semi-final at Croke Park.
