Limerick hold on for win
Limerick 1-09 Leitrim 0-11
A 63rd-minute point from defender Diarmuid Carroll was the decisive score as Limerick footballers held out for a slender win at Kilmallock today.
Mickey Ned O'Sullivan's charges were certainly tested by a Leitrim side that were eager to avoid the drop to Division 4.
In the end they were relegated as John Galvin, Conall S Crualam and Carroll gave solid displays for Limerick.
Despite kicking seven first half wides, Limerick were the better side and just about deserved the full points.
