Inaccuracy in front of the posts did not seem to matter for a determined Carlow side who beat Kerry for a place in the NHL Division 2 final.

Carlow led by 0-7 to 0-3 at half-time at the Gaelic Grounds.

Despite John Egan hitting the net twice after the restart and a late John Mike Dooley goal, Carlow always looked likely winners.

Brendan Lawlor (0-6) and goal scorer Rory Dunbar (1-2) led the way for the Barrowsiders' attack. Egan top-scored for Kerry with 2-2.
