Canning to make Galway debut against Cork

Joe Canning is to make his long-awaited debut for Galway in Sunday's National Hurling League semi-final against Cork at the Gaelic Grounds.

The Portumna star has been brought in at full-forward and is one of three changes to the side that defeated Limerick last time out.

Fergal Moore also returns at corner back in place of Shane Kavanagh and Damien Hayes replaces Kerill Wade at right corner forward.

Nineteen-year-old Canning had previously opted out of senior inter-county action because of under-age and club commitments.
