Connolly dominant for Longford

Kilkenny native Collins Connolly top-scored for Louth (1-7) as the visitors recorded a comfortable win at Michael Fay Park today.

Connolly's goal helped the visitors to a 2-6 to 1-7 interval lead with midfielder Declan Tanner notching the Longford goal.

Former Offaly player Tanner finished with 1-7, but his newly adopted side failed to build on their first-half performance.

Although full-back Tom Stakem also tried hard, his 64th-minute dismissal summed up Longford's day, with the visitors hitting two late goals.
