Defeat sees Sligo relegated

Sligo were condemned to Division Four hurling next season after today's seven-point loss at Markievicz Park.

The hosts led by 0-10 to 1-5 at the interval with former Kilkenny hurler Colin Herity scoring nine points for Sligo, while Lee Henderson poached the visitors' goal.

However, a goal on the restart from Tipperary native Ger Dwyer erased Sligo's good work, and with free-taker Kevin Campbell on form from placed balls and open play in the second half, it paved the way for a Donegal win.
