Kerry win hard-fought clash with Mayo
Kerry 4-9 Mayo 1-16
Kerry were forced to dig deep today before securing this hard earned six-point win at Austin Stack Park, Tralee.
The hosts led by 2-3 to 0-1 after 21 minutes, thanks to goals from John Mike Dooley, with Mayo's lone point coming from Stephen Broderick.
However, an Adrian Freeman goal levelled the tie at 2-4 to 1-7 by the break.
The sides were again inseparable during the third quarter and it was not until the Kingdom poached a fourth goal late on that the home win look guaranteed.
