Victories for Monaghan and South Down in division 4
ALLIANZ NHL DIVISION 4: Monaghan 3-11 Leitrim 0-6
A strong second half display ensured Monaghan were convincing 14-point winners at Cloughan.
The hosts were well matched by their Leitrim counterparts in the opening half with a goal from Michael Greaney giving Monaghan a 1-4 to 0-4 interval lead.
Leitrim were also performing well at this stage with Clement Cunniffe and Colin Hayes doing their best to keep the visitors in contention.
However, a second Greaney goal and a third from Michael Dolan helped Monaghan storm decisively ahead.
ALLIANZ NHL DIVISION 4: South Down 6-18 Fermanagh 0-8
South Down claimed their second ever NHL victory by comprehensively beating Fermanagh at Ballela this afternoon.
Niall Bogue hit five points for the eventual losers in a game where a strong start by South Down proved decisive.
Paddy Braniff's charges led by 4-12 to 0-3 at half-time with full-forward Ciaran Sloane hitting two goals.
Top scorer Sloane (2-10) continued to cause havoc in the second half and although reduced to 14 men following the dismissal of Alan Higgins, South Down were always in control.
