McManamon to start for Dublin

Brendan McManamon will make his first league start when Dublin pay a visit to Kingspan Breffni Park on Saturday (throw-in 7pm) to face Cavan in a crunch Division 2 tie.

The strongly-built McManamon featured for the Dubs in the recent O'Byrne Cup, scoring a point in their 2-12 to 1-14 final win over Longford.

The St. Jude's clubman will start at left corner forward on Saturday, in a full-forward line that includes Jason Sherlock and Bernard Brogan.

Both Brogan brothers - with Alan leading the attack - are reintroduced after missing the opening weekend win over Westmeath.

Paul Caffrey's fourth change is in defence where Ross McConnell replaces Niall O'Shea at full-back.

Cavan are still waiting for their first league points of 2008 and they will need to get off the mark soon with Division 2 being so competitive.

Currently joint-top of the table with Monaghan, the Dubs have maximum points after the opening two rounds of the league.

They beat Westmeath 1-7 to 1-5 and were awarded the two points when, owing to the players' strike, Cork failed to fulfil their fixture on February 16.
