Kilkenny offer Cork second chance in NHL clash

Kilkenny County Board have tonight sensationally offered Cork a refixture of their National Hurling League tie, for this Sunday at either a venue in either of the two counties.

The last two counties to taste All-Ireland Senior success, were to meet on the opening day of the Hurling league for a Division 1A clash at Nowlan Park. However due to the players strike in Cork, that game failed to take place. Today the GAA's CCCC (Central Competitions Control Committee) awarded Kilkenny the points, and also placed a €400 fine on the Cork County Board for failing to fulfil the fixture.
