Cork County Board to meet Holland today as row drags on

The executive of the Cork County Board is to meet with football manager Teddy Holland later today to discuss his future position, as the long-running players’ dispute stumbles towards a close.

The board held an emergency meeting last night to consider the recommendations of Labour Relations Commission head Kieran Mulvey.

One of Mr Mulvey’s core recommendations was that Teddy Holland step aside but the manager has so far refuse to step aside voluntarily.

The board had been expected to vote to remove him last night, however that vote never happened.

Meanwhile, former Cork hurling manager John Allen says he would be willing to take over as caretaker Rebels football boss if asked.

A meeting late last night was due to force the dismissal of Teddy Holland as manager, under the terms of an arrangement to end the Cork players' strike.

But Allen said he would not stay permanently.
