Mulvey recommends Holland and Cork selectors resign

Labour Relations Commission Chief Executitve Kieran Mulvey has recommended that Teddy Holland and his selectors step down from their positions at the helm of Cork Senior football.

The step is one of three recommendations made by Labour Relations chief executive Kieran Mulvey, who made an independent judgement on the dispute between the striking players and the Cork County Board this afternoon.

Mulvey has also recommended that the new manager be appointed by a committee of seven, five of whom would include members of the county board with the remaining positions filled by current players, while the third recommendation is that the players do not go on strike again.

Despite these recommendations coming from Mulvey it is as yet unclear if they are bound by arbitration.

It is has been speculated that former Cork Senior hurling manager John Allen, who guided the Rebels to All-Ireland glory in 2005, and is a former Cork Senior footballer; may step in as caretaker manager for the football side should the recommendations be binding.
