Mayo make two changes for league final rematch

Mayo manager John O'Mahony has made two alterations to his side for Sunday's NFL Division 1 clash with Donegal in Castlebar (throw-in 2.30pm).

For what is a repeat of last year's league final, Mayo will start with Shane Nallen in goal and Tom Cunniffe at right corner back.

Mayo lost to Derry in their league opener two weeks ago but picked up two good challenge match wins in the last eight days.

GMIT were beaten under the floodlights at Aghamore last Thursday and O'Mahony's side accounted for Ballina Stephenites at Ballyvary last Saturday morning.

Mayo are still without their Ballina players who are busily preparing for their All-Ireland club semi-final showdown with Nemo Rangers on February 24.

O'Mahony and his management team are also planning without the injured Kenneth O'Malley, while the experienced trio of James Nallen, Ciaran McDonald and Kevin O'Neill have yet to publicly state their intentions for the league and championship campaigns.

Mayo captain Ronan McGarrity is currently nursing an ankle ligament injury and is in a race against time to be match fit for Ballina's game against Nemo.

Meanwhile, Donegal will not confirm their team until later tonight but they are definitely without key forward Ciaran Bonner.

He is currently suffering from a hamstring injury and Donegal will also have to make do without Brendan Devenney, Leon Thompson, Barry Dunnion and the suspended Rory Kavanagh.

MAYO (NFL v Donegal): S Nallen; T Cunniffe, BJ Padden, L O'Malley; C Barrett, T Howley, K Higgins; S O'Shea, P Gardiner; J Gill, A Dillon, M Mullins; C Mortimer, A O'Malley, A Moran.
